Lightning Over The Neuse | New Bern, NC
Last night brought storms to the area, with the first appearing at around 8:30 pm by way of a huge shelf cloud. I ventured out into it to shoot its approach and was amazed by the seemingly endless lightning strikes. There was nearly no pause at all between flashes lighting the sky up! I shot the event from the Galley Marina on the Neuse River until the rain started to fall. Another cell flared up at about 4am which woke me up due to the close proximity of the lightning. I stayed in bed for that one though…
More strong storms are forecasted for this evening, so I may very well be on the chase again!
