A Little About Myself
I’m a photographer based in New Bern, NC. Originally from Elderton, Pennsylvania (near Pittsburgh), I attended nearby Indiana University of Pennsylvania. It was there, where in taking the few photography courses offered, I was introduced to photography as an art form. I ended up with a Bachelor of Science in Communications Media and no true direction, career-wise. After several months of us searching and applying for jobs far and wide, my wife was offered a teaching position further from home than I had ever even traveled. Within a few short weeks, we had ‘uprooted’ and were living in Eastern North Carolina. Seeing this as a fresh start, I soon implemented my photography as an actual business: The Uprooted Photographer.
In the short time since, I have been nominated as one of three finalists for a Photoshop Guru Award, have seen my work be published in several local, regional and national publications and have been lucky enough to be represented by Getty Images.
I consider myself a self taught photographer and am always striving to learn more and more. I find myself constantly evolving my style, keeping things fresh and different.
I consider myself absolutely blessed to be able to make a living doing something that I love and so lucky that what I do inspires and sparks a creative fire within others. Feedback from fans and readers shapes what I do and how I do it more than anything. I sincerely thank you all!
Photography has helped me to see the world in a different light. I want to show the world as I see it, full of vibrant color and detail.
I love connecting with folks. Feel free to click the ‘Connect’ tab and join me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or where ever else I’m hanging out these days and say ‘hi!’ For any specific questions, concerns or comments, you can always email me at zach(at)uprootedphotographer.com. I try to respond as quickly as possible and to each and every email.
